Inovsys chooses ProMaker P1000 3D printer for TEAM Henri-Fabre Technocenter

The ProMaker P1000 3D printer

Inovsys—a French innovation-oriented business focused on technologies and mechanical systems—has chosen to install a ProMaker P1000 selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printer from Prodways Technologies at the TEAM Henri-Fabre Technocenter in Marignane, France.

TEAM Henri-Fabre is an Inovsys-led, public-private project that brings together organizations in multiple industries—including aerospace, energy, medical and naval—for the purpose of sharing expertise in mechanics, materials and processes. The ultimate goal of the project is to develop a ‘reference ecosystem’ based on this expertise and thus encourage growth of advanced manufacturing in France’s Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region.

The ProMaker P1000 has an open platform that permits research centers to develop their own materials and applications. It is to be used at the Technocenter to support the development of future mass production solutions and is expected to help Inovsys and its fellow project partners achieve the following objectives:

  • 3D printing cost optimization for mass production by working on material optimization, its impact on the environment and its refresher rate;
  • the inclusion of 3D printing technology in a certified industrial production process by working on robotization and the development of post-process peripherals; and
  • the development of a calculation code to predict the deformation of a part prior to its manufacture.
