Exact Metrology—a USA-based provider of metrology products and services—has been named as the greater Midwest dealer for EnvisionTEC’s portfolio of 3D printers. It is considered by the company to be a 'natural extension' of its existing offering.
EnvisionTEC has headquarters in both Germany and the USA and manufactures professional-grade 3D printers and printing materials for use in a number of industries including aerospace, automotive, jewelry and life sciences. The company offers more than 40 printers based on six digital light processing (DLP) technologies. These range from desktop- to large-format printers capable of producing 10 ft2 (0.93 m2) carbon fiber and thermoplastic objects. Its materials include more than 70 proprietary formulations for specific customer requirements.
Exact Metrology provides a range of measurement and scanning hardware and software. The company also delivers a number of services, namely contract measurement for 2D and 3D laser scanning, reverse engineering, non-contact inspection, 3D digitizing and training, long-range scanning and CT scanning. The company has two main offices in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Brookfield, Wisconsin, as well as remote offices throughout Ohio, Illinois and Iowa. These ‘central’ locations are said to enable the company to deliver exceptional levels of sales and technology support.
Dean Solberg, the co-president of Exact Metrology, said: ‘The addition of EnvisionTEC brings our line to a new level of technology. A natural extension of our services and equipment lines, especially in the areas of reverse engineering and product modeling. We were already using 3D printing in our own service departments, so it made perfect sense to extend our equipment lines into 3D printing and we were most impressed with their line and their commitment to growth.’
