Advanc3D Materials—a Germany-based manufacturer of additive manufacture (AM) materials—has partnered with Trinseo, a global manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber, to launch the AdWire PRO range of filaments for professional fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printing.
There are numerous professional 3D printing filaments on the market, however the majority of these have been significantly modified in order to make them 3D printable. Advanc3D Materials has managed to produce the AdWire PRO filaments directly from Trinseo’s plastic material grades, thus retaining their original properties.
This means that Trinseo customers already using the grades for injection molding applications can more easily transition to 3D printing. Furthermore, they can choose a material for their prototypes that can also be used for full-scale production.
The AdWire PRO range of filaments includes various grades of polycarbonate (PC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and PC/ABS. The grades are available in two diameters, namely 1.75 and 2.85 mm, to accommodate all FFF 3D printers.
Each filament offers different properties to suit various applications, such as excellent aesthetics, biocompatibility, high impact durability, low particle content and ultra-violet (UV) absorption.
The range has been successfully tested on the most commonly used FFF 3D printers and is available for sampling and purchase from Advanc3D Materials.
